General Secretary’s Responsibilities and Secretariat
The General Secretary of the Uzbekistan’s Students Union (UzSU) serves as the Union’s official representative, overseeing external affairs, strategic development, and public relations. The General Secretary liaises with the Supervisory Board, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UK, and external stakeholders to advance the Union’s mission.
The Secretariat supports the General Secretary in these endeavors by coordinating activities and ensuring alignment with UzSU’s strategic goals. The office focuses on innovation, advocacy, and organizational leadership, working closely with other departments to create a cohesive and impactful Union.
Biography
Aleksandr Morozov is a graduate of the University of Hertfordshire with a degree in Accounting and Finance. During his studies, he completed a placement year at Sony Europe in Weybridge as a Financial Analyst, where he gained experience in intercompany reporting, treasury operations, and process optimization.
At the University of Hertfordshire, Aleksandr founded and led the Russian Speakers Society, which under his leadership was awarded Society of the Year 2025. His dedication to student engagement and leadership was also recognized through the Unsung Hero 2023 award.
Aleksandr joined the Uzbekistan Students’ Union (UzSU) as an External Affairs Officer, where he focused on developing partnerships with universities, embassies, and cultural organisations. His successful work in this role led to his current position as General Secretary of UzSU, where he oversees the Union’s operations, strengthens strategic cooperation, and organizes high-profile initiatives that promote cultural exchange and student engagement..
With a strong background in finance and proven leadership in student organisations, Aleksandr is committed to expanding UzSU’s influence, supporting Uzbek students across the UK, and promoting Uzbek culture and talent on the international stage.
